Words with clarity and inclusion.

About Shannon Benton

Shannon Benton is a writer, copywriter, and current Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL) Fellowship recipient who believes in the power of clear, thoughtful communication. She works with individuals, small businesses, and community organisations to articulate their purpose through clean, compelling, human-centred writing.

Her creative practice is grounded in a deep interest in narrative, memory, and place, with a particular focus on regional Australian voices. Through her ASAL Fellowship, Shannon is developing new work exploring these themes, further strengthening her ability to craft writing that is both meaningful and resonant.

Alongside her creative work, Shannon has built a strong career in the disability and aged care sector. This background informs her writing with empathy, dignity, inclusiveness, and an understanding of the stories that sit beneath the surface. She is also a biography writer for older members of her community, driven by a deep belief that no life story should be left untold.

Shannon is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Writing, through the University of New England. She lives in the hillside town of Dungog in the Hunter region of NSW, a place that continually shapes her writing, her values, and her commitment to capturing authentic regional voices.

Whether you need clear, concise copy for your business or support in shaping a narrative that truly reflects who you are, Shannon brings clarity, care, and craftsmanship to every project.
